Earlswood Plants is stocking for the first time a range of seasonal House plants including:

Remember not to over water at this time of year, the best way is to stand the plants in a saucer of water for 15-20 minutes about once a week, but of course if you have them by warm radiators they may need this treatment more frequently.

Planning for next year

December is a month which normally means there is not much that can be done in the garden, but if you choose your days carefully you can still get out and keep the garden tidy, by raking up leaves and adding to the compost heap. Or complete the pruning jobs started in November.

However, there is a lot of enjoyment to be gained from browsing the seed catalogues and planning what you are going to grow in the coming year. Be adventurous and try out some new varieities which you haen't grown before.

There are also lots of plants to enjoy in the garden in December, with shrubs such as Hamamelis, Viburnum x bodnantense and Sarcococca begin to flower and give off their magnificent scents.
